"Sono-Mama!" is a Japanese syntagma which means "just like this, exactly as it is". It is mentioned in Alan Watts's book "The Way of Zen" to describe the spirit of creation commonly used in Zen art and Haiku poetry. This creative approach works as a filter that removes the innate adulterations of the human perception, so that reality is ultimately seen in its oneness, untouched by sensory illusions. The album is more or less divided into an acoustic and an electric section. Influenced by band like Gong, Popol Vuh, Can or Phish, Sono-Mama! also features deep psychedelic sections as heard in Furious Georgie's previous full-length effort, You Know It. All the instruments were played and recorded by Furious Georgie, whose real name is Giorgio Trombino."
released April 22, 2017
This album was recorded whenever possible around the years 2014/2015 and accordingly engineered, mixed and mastered by Silvio Punzo and Georgie at Tone Deaf Studio.
Vocals apart, here’s a list of all those instruments F.G. painstakingly tried not to destroy while doing this album:
Electric and acoustic guitars, bass, drums, upright piano, various VST keyboards or synths, alto and soprano sax, flute, lap steel, mandolin, assorted percussions like bongos, shakers, flip-flaps, vibraslaps, brushes and other onomatopoeias.
